ROG Xbox Ally X20

Take the freedom of Windows PC gaming into a handheld built around a vivid OLED display, refined controls and an anniversary finish. The RC74XA-TW009W combines Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processing, 24GB memory and a 1TB SSD in a translucent black and gold design.

7.4-inch OLED120Hz + VRR24GB LPDDR5X1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD80Wh battery

Engineered for the way you play

OLED that brings worlds closer

A 7.4-inch Full HD OLED screen combines rich black levels with 100% DCI-P3 colour. Dolby Vision and HDR highlights add depth to supported games, while the anti-reflection treatment helps keep the picture visible under changing light.

Fast motion, responsive play

The 120Hz panel, 0.2ms response and FreeSync Premium Pro work together to keep motion clear. Variable refresh follows the game’s output between 30 and 120Hz; actual frame rates depend on the title, settings and power profile.

Ryzen AI performance in your hands

The eight-core Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme pairs 16 processing threads with an AMD XDNA NPU. With 24GB of dual-channel LPDDR5X memory, the device has room for demanding PC games and everyday Windows applications.

Controls with a considered feel

Magnetic TMR joysticks, Hall Effect analogue triggers and impulse feedback bring precise input and tactile response. Rotate the Transforming D-pad to choose four-way or eight-way control, and assign the rear buttons to suit your playstyle.

Room for a growing library

The 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD keeps a substantial library close at hand. An M.2 2280 upgrade path and microSD Express expansion give you options when your collection grows; cards and replacement drives are sold separately.

Connect beyond the handheld

Two USB-C ports support charging and display output, with USB4 available on one port. Add a compatible dock, monitor and peripherals for a larger-screen setup, or use Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth for wireless connections.

Built for longer sessions

An 80Wh battery, rubberised grips and evolved ROG Intelligent Cooling support comfortable mobile play. Runtime varies with game load, brightness, wireless use and performance settings.

A collector’s anniversary finish

Translucent black surfaces reveal gold details inside the chassis, while the rear anniversary badge marks two decades of ROG. Gold accents and configurable joystick lighting complete a distinctive premium handheld.

Your library. Your settings. Your space.

Move between the controller-friendly Xbox experience and the flexibility of Windows. Armoury Crate Special Edition helps you organise installed games and adjust the handheld’s settings, while the Action button gives you convenient access to screenshots and recording.

Use the fingerprint sensor for convenient sign-in, connect headphones through the 3.5mm jack, or enjoy the two-speaker system with Dolby Atmos. At home, compatible USB-C display accessories can extend the device into a desk or living-room setup without giving up your familiar PC game library.

Questions before you play

Is this the Xbox Ally X20 bundle?

No. This listing is the RC74XA-TW009W standalone handheld. The separate RC74XA-TW001W bundle is a different product; bundle accessories are not included here.

Is a charger included?

ASUS UK identifies this standalone configuration as supplied without a charger. Use a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger; ASUS specifies a 68W power adapter profile. A dock and charging accessories are sold separately.

Can I play my PC games as well as Xbox titles?

It runs Windows 11 Home, so you can install compatible PC storefronts and games. The Xbox interface provides controller-friendly navigation. Game ownership, subscriptions, software compatibility and individual game requirements still apply; Xbox console discs are not supported.

Can the storage be expanded?

Yes. ASUS lists a replaceable M.2 2280 NVMe SSD and a microSD Express reader. Standard microSD cards are supported; UHS-II cards run at UHS-I speeds. Storage media are sold separately.

How do I use HDR or connect an external display?

Enable HDR in Windows Display Settings for supported HDR content. The 1400-nit figure refers to peak highlights, rather than constant full-screen brightness. Both USB-C ports support display output; a compatible cable or dock is required.

What are the Game Pass conditions?

The manufacturer lists two months of Xbox Game Pass Premium in eligible markets. Activation eligibility, regional availability and conversion rules apply. A valid payment method is required and the subscription renews at the regular rate unless cancelled; the catalogue changes over time.
